helping to support the reduction in anaesthetic gas use and MDI inhaler where appropriate. I will set up a pharmacy green group to support this work and reduce the amount of medicines wasted within the trust and support the use of patients own medicines. Electronic prescribing will help us to reduce the amount of card and paper that we use and I will review pharmacy processes to ensure we move to paper-free or paper-light. I will explore the use of recycling more pharmacy waste (paper, plastic and card) and implement paper bags instead of plastic for patient discharges.

encouraging my colleagues and patients to play their part in reducing emissions and saving our planet. I am passionate about climate change and anything considered "Eco-Friendly" and want to make a difference to the Clinic I work in by looking for ways to reduce usage, minimize waste and work towards a healthier planet. I believe that together we can make a change, and I'll be encouraging and working alongside my colleagues, implementing my own ideas, and hopefully inspiring others to bring their ideas forward to work on. This has to be a team effort, and I look forward to playing my part in whatever way I can.

I’m an anaesthetic registrar.
My motivation for supporting the trust in zero thirty is multi factorial. I have a genuine interest in the impact of climate change and feel a sense of urgency that we all do what we can to try to minimise our carbon footprint as much as we feel able. I see so many opportunities for small and simple changes in healthcare which I think collectively could contribute to genuine change. I also think that as we look more closely at sustainability we will not only improve our carbon footprint but reduce overall waste; time waste, financial waste and resource waste. I feel proud to be part of an organisation with ambitious sustainability goals!
At work I am currently working with colleagues to look at how we work in various aspects of anaesthesia to identify areas where improvements can be made. This includes addressing the impact of anaesthetic gases and the enormous amount of waste generated in the theatre environment. I hope that through information sharing, education and simple interventions we will be able to engender the same amount of enthusiasm towards achieving zero thirty across all staff working in the organisation and we will start to see genuine and sustained results.

If we all did something, no matter how small, helping the Trust achieve its goal in being Carbon Neutral will improve not only our future but the future of our generations to come. Working with my colleagues in the Trust and involving our third part providers we are constantly looking how we can reduce the carbon footprint of our transport requirements whilst personally I use my cycle when practical but especially in my commute to work.

I am Head of Capital in EF&D responsible for the Capital Development, PFI, Property and Sustainability Department. My immediate family lives and works in Hull and East Yorkshire, I believe strongly that everyone in their respective fields has a duty to reduce Carbon Emissions and the decisions I make at work directly impact in the short, medium and long term for my family and friends and the wider environment with how we save emissions, utilise environments and manage energy supplies and the finite resources we have. I directly manage the Development and Sustainability team and whilst it is easy to focus from a development perspective how we make a building run, or how we use the estate, reducing Carbon emissions is one the one hand the large visual changes such as a PV field it is also smaller marginal changes for example how access a building or use a building or even travel to a building. Building on the success of the EFD Capital team I am keen to build on the foundations we have already laid to implement our Carbon zero strategy.
